Minor girls abandoned by parents at police station

In a distressing incident at the Thimmapur police station in Karimnagar district, two minor girls aged eight and five were abandoned by their parents on Monday. The parents, identified as Lalitha and her husband Ravi Kumar, left their children at the station following prolonged marital discord.

Background of the Dispute

According to Karimnagar police, the couple's relationship had been strained for several months. Lalitha had moved from Karimnagar to live with her parents in Nizamabad. A month ago, she approached the police accusing Ravi of domestic violence. After a meeting with elders, Ravi agreed to take her back within 15 days but failed to keep his word.

Incident at the Police Station

On Monday, Lalitha again approached the police, leading to Ravi being summoned. While being counseled, Lalitha suddenly declared she was fed up with her marriage. She removed her mangalsutra and toe rings, placed them on a table, and walked out. Moments later, Ravi also left, abandoning both children at the station. The girls were left distraught and crying inconsolably.

Aftermath and Custody

Police contacted Ravi's parents, who arrived and took custody of the children. Ravi runs a grocery store, while Lalitha works as a nurse. Financial problems are believed to be the primary cause of their marital discord. No case has been registered yet, but police are considering summoning the couple again for counseling.

This incident highlights the severe impact of marital disputes on children. Authorities urge couples to seek professional help before taking drastic steps that endanger their offspring.
