PM Modi Launches Scathing Attack on Congress Over Fuel Price Rumors
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a forceful critique of the opposition Congress party during a public rally in Vav-Tharad, located within Gujarat's Banaskantha district. The Prime Minister accused Congress leaders of deliberately circulating false information about potential fuel shortages to generate political advantage and sow public unrest.
Shielding Citizens from Global Fuel Price Volatility
Modi emphasized that his administration has successfully protected Indian citizens from the sharp increases in petrol and diesel prices that have impacted numerous nations worldwide. He pointed out that global fossil fuel costs have escalated dramatically, with increases ranging from 10% to 25% in many countries, including major global powers, primarily due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
"Despite the significant impact of the war, our government has ensured that the people of India are not burdened by these rising costs," Modi stated. "The Congress party cannot accept this achievement, which is why its leaders are persistently spreading baseless rumors to cultivate an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among the populace."
Allegations of Political Conspiracy and Fear-Mongering
The Prime Minister elaborated that the opposition's alleged strategy involves encouraging long queues at gas agencies and petrol pumps to create visible chaos. This manufactured disorder, according to Modi, would then be exploited to fuel a broader misinformation campaign against the government.
"Like political vultures, the Congress is waiting for any crisis to deepen so it can exploit public distress for electoral gains," Modi declared. "At a time when national unity and solidarity are paramount, their leaders are attempting to divide the country. When confidence needs to be instilled, they spread fear. When patience is required, they instigate."
Infrastructure Development and National Resilience
During the same event, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated various infrastructure projects valued at approximately Rs 20,000 crore for the northern region of Gujarat. He connected this development to India's broader stability, crediting the nation's successful foreign policy and collective unity for its ability to manage global uncertainties.
"India has not only maintained stability amidst global war and uncertainty but is also accelerating rapidly on its development path," Modi asserted. He contrasted this with the actions of certain political parties, whom he accused of seeking political mileage from the international upheaval, with the Congress allegedly at the forefront of such efforts.
Referencing Past Incidents and Urging Vigilance
Modi recalled a recent incident where members of the Congress youth wing staged a shirtless protest at the Global AI Summit. He interpreted this action as a deliberate attempt to tarnish India's international reputation at a moment when the summit was receiving global praise.
"In the current situation as well, Congress is echoing the anti-India narratives promoted by some foreign elements," the Prime Minister claimed. He cautioned citizens to remain vigilant against what he described as the party's conspiracies, noting that Congress becomes "unsettled and frustrated" whenever it is out of power.
Call for Unity in Facing Global Challenges
Concluding his address, Modi called upon the nation to remain united in the face of global tensions. He highlighted India's demonstrated resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic as evidence of the country's capacity to confront severe international challenges.
"We should take pride in the fact that while many nations are struggling to shield themselves from the war's impact, India is not only maintaining stability but also progressing rapidly," Modi affirmed, reinforcing his message of national strength and collective purpose.
