BJP Leader Naqvi Slams Opposition Over Women's Reservation Bill Defeat
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionary Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi declared on Monday that the "technical defeat" of the women's reservation bill will prove to be a "political disaster" for what he termed the "women empowerment lynching lobby." Speaking to reporters in Lucknow, Naqvi launched a scathing attack on opposition parties, accusing them of engaging in "distractive and negative political play" regarding the women empowerment mission.
Opposition Celebrating Political Lynching of Women's Bill
Naqvi asserted that the "defaulter dynasty" has written the script for its own political debacle by celebrating what he described as the "political lynching" of the women's reservation bill. He emphasized that those who have worked to diminish the political empowerment of women by stalling the legislation have essentially scored a "self-goal" against their own interests.
"Those who are celebrating political victory through technical trickery must understand that they may have been able to defer the mission of women empowerment, but they can't defeat and derail or indefinitely delay it," Naqvi stated firmly. He expressed confidence that the Modi government's resolve regarding women's reservation is bound to be realized despite current obstacles.
Congress and Allies Accused of Creating Instability
The BJP leader went further to characterize the Congress and its allies as "history-sheeters" of what he called "hit and run hysteria." According to Naqvi, the opposition has been attempting to disturb "every social, economic, inclusive reform" undertaken by the current government.
Naqvi suggested that the Congress party is struggling to accept that for the first time, a non-Congress government is successfully taking the country forward on the path of good governance and prosperity without any "Congress' support or remote." He claimed this frustration has led the opposition to conspire in creating an environment of instability and anarchy across the nation.

The senior BJP functionary's remarks highlight the ongoing political battle surrounding the women's reservation bill, which seeks to reserve one-third of seats in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies for women.
