Odisha Doctors Threaten Mass Resignation Over Pay Parity

Bhubaneswar: Doctors in government hospitals under the aegis of the Odisha Medical Service Association (OMSA) have threatened to resign en masse over demands related to pay parity, cadre restructuring, and dynamic assured career progression similar to the central scale.

OMSA President's Statement

OMSA president Dr. Kishore Chandra Mishra stated that more than 8,500 doctors are currently working in various government hospitals across the state. In addition, approximately 2,500 doctors are serving in different medical colleges and hospitals on a deputation basis.

“In January, the government assured us that the matter would be resolved and our demands would be fulfilled. However, no significant steps have been taken so far. That is why we are planning to resign from our posts,” Mishra said.
