Washington also urged Cubans to pursue a “new path,” fueling speculation that President Donald Trump may be considering efforts to remove the Cuban government. Trump had previously cited a US indictment as justification for military action in Venezuela that led to the removal of Nicolás Maduro, a close ally of Havana.
