PM Modi Performs Rituals at Ram Mandir, Flag Hoisting Ceremony

Historic Moment as Ram Temple Construction Completes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ayodhya on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, to participate in the significant ceremony of hoisting the Dharma Dhwaja at the Ram Temple shikhar. This landmark event officially marks the completion of the temple's construction, which began after the Bhumi Poojan performed by the Prime Minister himself in August 2020.

Elaborate Ceremonies and Distinguished Participants

Upon his arrival in the sacred city, PM Modi held a 1.5-kilometer roadshow on the Ram Path before entering the temple premises, where his cavalcade received a warm welcome with showers of flower petals. The Prime Minister participated in the flag hoisting ceremony during the Abhijit Muhurat around noon, alongside RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and trustees of the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The ceremonial flag measures approximately 20 feet in length, 10 feet in height, and weighs about 20 kilograms. Due to its substantial size and weight, the Army provided technical guidance for the hoisting procedure.

Temple Complex and Ritual Details

Before the main ceremony, the Prime Minister visited the Sapta Mandapam, where he offered flowers before the idols of seven sages: Maharishi Vashistha, Agastya, Valmiki, Mata Shabri, Nishad Raj, Guha, and Tulsidas.

According to Champat Rai, Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, "The saffron-colored flag carries symbols of the Kividar tree, Surya, and Om, representing the rising sun and fire, while symbolizing sacrifice and devotion."

The temple complex now includes six smaller temples in its precincts, all ready for simultaneous flag hoisting: Goddess Durga in the northwest, Maa Annapurna in the north-central, Ganesha in the northeast, Suryadev in the southeast, Hanuman in the south-central, and the Shiva-Sheshavadhar temple in the southwest.

Special invitees described by Trust officials as representatives of "Samraj Samaj" from every community and caste were seated for the ceremonies, which commenced amidst traditional mantra chanting as the Prime Minister welcomed guests.

This event follows the first consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024, led by PM Modi, and the second consecration of the Ram Darbar on June 25 of the same year, which was led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
