Bittu Targets Film 'Satluj' and Diljit Dosanjh
During the same interaction, Bittu launched a sharp attack on the makers of the film 'Satluj' and actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh. He alleged that the film's creators are attempting to disrupt peace in Punjab.
Bittu stated that Diljit Dosanjh would not be allowed to disturb the peace of the state. He claimed that while Dosanjh asks Khalistani supporters to leave his shows, he simultaneously supports a 'terror narrative'.
Reference to Jaswant Singh Khalra
Referring to human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, Bittu claimed that Khalra was picked up by the police after the assassination of his grandfather, former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. The minister did not provide further details on this point.
Context and Reactions
The visit of Prime Minister Modi to Punjab comes amid ongoing political tensions in the state. The film 'Satluj' and Diljit Dosanjh's involvement have been subjects of controversy, with allegations of promoting divisive narratives. Bittu's statements are expected to further fuel the debate.
