Punjab Congress Leader Condemns Chandigarh Blast, Highlights Security Lapses
Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring has issued a strong condemnation of the explosion that occurred outside the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh on Wednesday. In a statement, Warring described the incident as a matter of grave concern, while noting with relief that no loss of life was reported.
Security and Intelligence Failure Alleged
Warring pointedly criticized what he termed a complete failure of security and intelligence mechanisms, placing the onus squarely on the Union home ministry. "If Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab, housing two governors and two chief ministers with so much security paraphernalia, is not safe, one can imagine the state of the rest of Punjab," he asserted, underscoring the severity of the breach.
Call for Thorough Investigation and Zero Tolerance
The Ludhiana MP expressed hope that the police would conduct a comprehensive investigation, examining all aspects of the case to apprehend the perpetrators swiftly. "We reaffirm and reiterate zero tolerance to any such incidents," Warring declared, emphasizing the party's stance against violence.
The blast has prompted security agencies to launch a massive probe, with emerging threats linked to Khalistan elements adding to the urgency. As the investigation unfolds, political leaders are calling for heightened vigilance and accountability to prevent future occurrences.
