Rahul Gandhi Intensifies Allegations of CPM-BJP Partnership in Kerala Campaign

During energetic roadshows in Kannur and Kozhikode on Tuesday, Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi significantly escalated his accusations of a covert partnership between the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Bharatiya Janata Party. He asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively desires the Left Democratic Front to secure victory in the ongoing Kerala elections.

Claims of Political Control and Collusion

Addressing a public gathering in Kannur and later campaigning extensively in Kozhikode, Rahul Gandhi elaborated that the BJP strategically wants the CPM to retain power in Kerala. According to him, the BJP believes it can exert control over the CPM, a dynamic he claims does not exist with the United Democratic Front and the Congress party.

"Just as US President Donald Trump allegedly controls Modi, the Prime Minister controls Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan," Gandhi stated emphatically. He further alleged, "The Chief Minister is fully aware that Modi possesses the authority to imprison him immediately, yet no action is taken. This explains why you hear Rahul Gandhi and Congress criticizing Modi, but you will never witness the Chief Minister attacking Modi, nor will you see Modi targeting the Chief Minister. If Modi commands jump, the CM will jump; if he says lie down, the CM will comply."

Contrast in Legal Actions and Sabarimala Reference

Rahul Gandhi highlighted a stark contrast in legal proceedings, noting that while individuals who criticize the BJP and RSS face severe consequences, no actions have been taken in corruption cases against Vijayan. "I face 36 cases, my house was seized, my Lok Sabha membership was revoked, and the Enforcement Directorate interrogated me for 55 hours," he recounted. "If the Chief Minister genuinely opposes the BJP, explain why no investigation occurs in the corruption allegations against him, and why his children remain un-interrogated."

He pointed to Prime Minister Modi's failure to mention the Sabarimala gold heist during his campaign speech as further evidence of the alleged collusion. "CPM leaders stole gold from the Sabarimala temple and replaced it with brass. No legal action was pursued against them. The so-called defender of faith visited Kerala and remained silent on Sabarimala because he intends for the LDF to win the elections," Gandhi charged.

Criticism of Trade Deal and Economic Warnings

Expanding his critique to national policies, Rahul Gandhi accused Modi of compromising India's energy security and future by signing a trade agreement with the United States. "You will be astonished to learn that India cannot freely purchase oil from desired sources. It must obtain US approval before procuring oil," he declared.

Touching upon the conflict in the Middle East, he issued a warning of an impending financial crisis. "A financial earthquake is anticipated within one or two months, leading to increased fuel prices and inflation. Subsequently, questions will arise regarding the measures taken by the central and state governments to protect citizens," he cautioned.

Allegation of Corporate Alignment

Rahul Gandhi concluded by asserting that the CPM and BJP are partnering because both are fundamentally corporate-aligned parties. "Two veteran CPM leaders are present with us on stage today. They have joined because what is currently termed the Left front does not represent the authentic Left party," he explained.

During his campaign, Gandhi also addressed corner meetings at Kallachi and Perambra, traveling in a special bus to prominently showcase the UDF's electoral guarantees and connect directly with voters across the region.
