Rahul Gandhi: Constitution, Gandhi, Ambedkar Under Attack

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the Constitution and the voices of Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar are under attack in the country. He was addressing a 'Bahujan Swabhiman Sabha' in Raebareli, his parliamentary constituency, in memory of revolutionary Veera Pasi who belonged to the district.

Speaking at the event, Gandhi asserted that the principles enshrined in the Constitution are being undermined by the current government. He highlighted the contributions of Veera Pasi, a Dalit revolutionary who fought against caste oppression and British rule. The Congress leader urged the crowd to remain vigilant and protect the ideals of social justice and equality.

Attack on Constitutional Values

Gandhi criticized the government for what he called an assault on democratic institutions and the Constitution. He argued that the voices of Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar are being silenced. 'The Constitution is the soul of our democracy, and it is under threat,' he said.

The event was attended by a large number of supporters from the Dalit and backward communities. Gandhi also took a swipe at the ruling party, accusing it of dividing society on caste and religious lines. He called for unity among all marginalized sections to counter the alleged attacks.

Veera Pasi's Legacy Remembered

The 'Bahujan Swabhiman Sabha' was organized to pay tribute to Veera Pasi, a prominent Dalit leader from Raebareli who played a key role in the freedom struggle. Gandhi said that Pasi's fight against injustice remains relevant today. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from such revolutionaries.

This is not the first time Rahul Gandhi has raised concerns over the Constitution. He has repeatedly accused the Modi government of undermining constitutional values. The Congress party has planned a series of such events across the country to mobilize support ahead of the next general elections.
