Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised serious questions regarding the CBSE Online Scholarship Management (OSM) contract, alleging that it was awarded to a firm with a questionable past. In a pointed attack on Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Gandhi demanded to know why the contract was given to Globarena, a company that operated under the name COEMPT and had a tainted record. He also sought clarification on the alleged connections between COEMPT's management and the Modi government.
Gandhi's Response to Pradhan's Criticism
After Pradhan criticized Gandhi for demanding his resignation, the Congress leader fired back, stating, "Dharmendra Pradhan, you can attack me all you want, but it won't absolve you of your crimes. Nor will it stop me from demanding answers for 18.5 lakh children." Gandhi further questioned, "Why was the CBSE OSM contract handed to COEMPT? On whose orders was it done? Why were no background checks done?"
Call for Accountability
Gandhi did not hold back in his criticism of the Prime Minister's role, asserting, "As for responsibility - if the PM cared, he should have sacked you long ago for ruining the futures of lakhs of students." The exchange highlights the ongoing political battle over the education sector and the handling of student welfare schemes.
