The Selection Committee meeting to choose the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) in December 2025 saw a clash of recommendations. However, the Prime Minister-headed selection panel ultimately went with Home Minister Amit Shah's recommendation of Raj Kumar Goyal. Rahul Gandhi disagreed with this decision and reiterated his three suggested names.
