Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and K C Venugopal have launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi following recent remarks by senior RSS leader Ram Madhav. In a post on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi accused the RSS of promoting 'farzi nationalism' in Nagpur while displaying 'pure servility' in the United States. He claimed that Ram Madhav had only revealed the Sangh's true nature through his statements.
Congress Leaders Question PM Modi's Stance
K C Venugopal, a senior Congress leader, echoed similar sentiments, asserting that a clear admission had been made by an RSS leader that PM Modi is 'dancing to Washington’s tunes.' He drew a historical comparison, recalling a time when the US's 7th Fleet was stationed in the Bay of Bengal, and India did not budge. Venugopal contrasted this with the present, alleging that a 'Compromised PM' has handed over India’s sovereignty to the United States.
Political Reactions Intensify
The remarks by the Congress leaders have intensified the political debate over India's foreign policy and the alleged influence of the United States on the current government. The opposition has been vocal in criticizing the Modi administration for what they perceive as a surrender of national interests. The RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have yet to issue an official response to these allegations.
The exchange on social media highlights the ongoing friction between the ruling party and the opposition, particularly on matters of national sovereignty and international relations. As the political discourse continues, both sides are expected to present their arguments in the coming days.
