Randhawa slams BJP, AAP as two sides of same coin

Chandigarh: Gurdaspur MP and former deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging that both parties were two sides of the same coin and were working to weaken democratic institutions for the sake of power.

Randhawa Calls Out Propaganda

Tired of too many ads? He urged the people of Punjab to see through what he called their propaganda. Randhawa said in the current circumstances, only the Congress party is capable of protecting the Constitution. He appealed to both the people of Punjab and citizens across the country to support the Congress in safeguarding democracy and defeating what he described as BJP's conspiracies.

Allegations Against AAP MPs

He alleged that AAP MPs, including Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak, were helping the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) promote single-party rule. He claimed the BJP wanted to increase its numbers in Parliament and state assemblies to pass bills at will, while also trying to weaken smaller and regional parties, especially the opposition.

Misuse of Government Agencies

Randhawa further alleged that government agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were being misused to intimidate leaders of various parties and coerce them into joining the BJP. He also claimed that AAP, which he described as the BJP's B-team, built a castle of lies against the Congress and is now collapsing under its own weight.

Congress as the Only Alternative

He said AAP had spent the past 10 years making baseless allegations against the Congress to portray it as corrupt. However, he added, the party's own foundation was now beginning to crumble. Randhawa's remarks come amid heightened political tensions in Punjab, where the Congress is seeking to regain ground lost to the AAP in the 2022 state elections.
