Raut Questions Joshi's Appointment
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday criticized the appointment of Pralhad Joshi as the Union Education Minister, calling it a temporary arrangement. Raut argued that Joshi, who previously served as the Coal Minister, is more suited for that portfolio rather than education. According to Raut, "Pralhad Joshi can be a good Coal Minister, but not an Education Minister."
Temporary Arrangement Claims
Speaking to the media, Raut elaborated on his assertion, stating, "Pralhad Joshi is only a temporary Education Minister. At most, he can serve as the Coal Minister, a position he has held earlier. Now, the Coal Minister has been made the Education Minister. I believe this arrangement is temporary. The government is currently searching for a permanent Education Minister." The remarks come amid ongoing reshuffles in the Union Cabinet.
Fadnavis as Ideal Candidate
Raut claimed that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would be the most suitable candidate for the post. "According to the information we have, Devendra Fadnavis could be the best choice for the post. He follows the RSS ideology and is also educated. It appears that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already made up his mind about this," he said. Raut's comments highlight the political rivalry and speculation within the ruling coalition regarding key ministerial positions.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader's statements come amid a broader discussion on the performance and suitability of Union ministers. The Education Ministry has been under scrutiny for its handling of policy reforms and curriculum changes. Raut's suggestion of Fadnavis, a BJP leader, underscores the complex dynamics between the two parties, which are allies in Maharashtra but often at odds on national issues.
As of now, there has been no official response from the government or the BJP regarding Raut's claims. The speculation over Joshi's tenure continues to generate political chatter, with opposition parties also questioning his credentials for the education portfolio.
