RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Says Modi Is a Swayamsevak But Functions Under Constitution
RSS Chief: Modi Is Swayamsevak, But Functions Under Constitution

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, speaking at the event '100 years of Sangh journey – New Horizons,' addressed several misconceptions about the organization. He described the Sangh as the most misunderstood organization in the world, citing unnecessary apprehension in public perception. Bhagwat attributed this to what he called malicious propaganda, which leads people to fear that the Sangh's growth could hinder their own progress.

Clarifying PM Modi's Association with RSS

Bhagwat also touched upon the common perception linking RSS with political leadership, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that Modi remains ideologically connected to the Sangh as a swayamsevak, but functions as the head of government under the Constitution. Bhagwat emphasized that political bodies are independent, and Sangh-linked institutions work autonomously, extending support only to constructive work.

Misunderstandings About the Sangh

The RSS chief highlighted that the organization's growth is often misconstrued as a threat to others. He urged people to understand the Sangh's true nature, which focuses on nation-building and social service. Bhagwat's remarks aimed to dispel fears and clarify the Sangh's role in society.
