RSS Sets Ambitious Goal for Universal Village Presence by October
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has declared a bold initiative to establish its shakas in all villages and localities across India by this October, as a key component of its ongoing centenary celebrations. This announcement was made during a press conference held in Kochi, highlighting a significant push for organizational growth and outreach.
Massive Outreach Efforts in Kerala
Speaking at the event, K B Sreekumar, the south Kerala sahaprantha karyawah, revealed that RSS workers have personally visited an impressive 22 lakh homes in Kerala alone. This extensive campaign included direct engagement with 64,000 Muslim families and 54,000 Christian families, demonstrating a broad-based approach to community interaction.
Additionally, around 1,500 Hindu gatherings have been conducted in the state, fostering cultural and social connections. Sreekumar noted that the number of RSS branches is currently at 7,000, but he projected a rapid increase, emphasizing that by October, there will be no place without Sangh activities. He attributed this growth to a surge in both branches and workers, driven by the centenary momentum.
Structural Reorganization for Expansion
Sreekumar explained that these developments stem from decisions made at the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha held in Samalkha, Haryana. As part of the centenary celebrations, a structural overhaul is underway, with the organizational framework in Kerala being reorganized into three distinct regions: Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode. This change, slated for completion within the next year, is designed to enhance operational efficiency and support the Sangh's expansion goals.
"This reorganization is for operational convenience and as part of our organizational expansion," Sreekumar stated, underscoring the strategic nature of the move.
Global Presence and Future Outlook
The RSS's influence extends beyond India's borders, with Sreekumar revealing that some form of Sangh activity is currently present in 65 to 70 countries worldwide. This global footprint underscores the organization's growing international reach and its efforts to connect with diaspora communities.
With the October deadline approaching, the RSS is poised to intensify its efforts, aiming to embed its presence in every corner of the nation while continuing to expand its global network. This initiative marks a pivotal moment in the organization's history, as it celebrates 100 years of service and activism.
