SGPC Observes Martyrdom Day of Bhai Mani Singh

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) observed the martyrdom day of Bhai Mani Singh with religious devotion at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in the Golden Temple complex, Amritsar, on July 10, 2026.

The programme began with the bhog of Akhand Path Sahib, followed by Gurbani kirtan performed by the Hazoori Ragi jatha of Sri Harmandir Sahib, led by Bhai Gurdev Singh Khalsa. The ardas was conducted by Bhai Prem Singh, while the hukamnama was taken by Harmandir Sahib granthi Giani Balwinder Singh.

Addressing the congregation, Giani Balwinder Singh recalled the life and sacrifices of Bhai Mani Singh and urged devotees to draw inspiration from his unwavering faith and commitment to Sikh principles. He said Bhai Mani Singh upheld the Sikh faith despite immense hardships and made the supreme sacrifice while remaining steadfast in his beliefs. He also highlighted that several members of Bhai Mani Singh’s family attained martyrdom, earning a distinguished place in Sikh history.

Giani Balwinder Singh noted that Bhai Mani Singh’s sacrifice, in which he was martyred limb by limb, remains a timeless example of courage, truth and justice, inspiring Sikhs to lead their lives according to Sikh values and teachings.
