He urged the allocation of additional infrastructural grants to meet the rising demands placed on the city's resources due to this influx. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that sustained investment in Bengaluru's infrastructure is crucial for maintaining its role as a driver of national economic growth.
Appeal for Cooperative Federalism
In his address, Shivakumar advocated for a cooperative approach between the state and central governments, moving away from confrontational politics. He called on the Centre to work hand-in-hand with Karnataka to address the challenges faced by Bengaluru, including traffic congestion, water supply, and waste management. The Deputy Chief Minister noted that collaborative efforts would yield better outcomes for the city's development.
