Supriya Sule Dismisses Merger Talks with Congress

NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule has firmly dismissed speculation about a merger with the Congress party, calling the reports baseless. Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Sule said, “We do not know anything about it. Neither Pawar Saheb knows anything about it, nor do I, nor (state unit president) Shashikant Shinde Ji, nor (senior leader) Jayant Patil Ji.”

Background of Merger Rumors

The rumors gained traction after recent political developments in Maharashtra, where the opposition alliance has been strengthening. However, Sule’s categorical denial puts an end to such conjectures. She emphasized that the party leadership is united and unaware of any such proposal.

Party Unity Underlined

Sule, who is the working president of the NCP (SP), reiterated that the party remains committed to its independent identity. “We are focused on our organizational work and preparing for upcoming elections. There is no truth in these merger talks,” she added.

The clarification comes amid efforts by the opposition bloc, INDIA, to consolidate forces ahead of the 2027 state assembly elections. However, Sule’s statement makes it clear that the NCP (SP) intends to maintain its separate political entity.
