Vijayawada: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has announced that 'Stree Shakti' (women power) will be the central theme of this year's Mahanadu, the party's annual conclave scheduled for May 27 and 28. The decision was finalized during a virtual Politburo meeting chaired by TDP president and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday.
Virtual Meeting for Energy Conservation
The meeting was conducted virtually as part of energy conservation measures. Naidu and TDP national working president Nara Lokesh participated from the chief minister's camp office, while other Politburo members joined from different locations. The meeting lasted nearly two-and-a-half hours and extensively discussed arrangements, themes, and resolutions for the event.
20 Resolutions to be Adopted
The Politburo decided to adopt a total of 20 resolutions during the two-day conclave. These include 10 resolutions related to Andhra Pradesh, four concerning Telangana, one related to the Andaman region, four joint resolutions, and one major political resolution. Naidu provided suggestions on the nature of the resolutions and the core messages they should convey.
Focus on Women Empowerment
With the theme being 'Stree Shakti', Naidu directed that both the event and speeches should reflect TDP's commitment to women empowerment. He instructed leaders to highlight measures taken by the party since its inception for the welfare, empowerment, and rights of women. He noted that the NDA government has been ensuring women's participation in every major welfare and development program.
Discussions on Welfare and Development
Naidu directed party leaders to hold detailed discussions on welfare schemes implemented by the government, development activities, investments attracted to the state, and progress in various sectors. He emphasized that deliberations at Mahanadu should focus on programs currently being implemented in the state. 'Special discussions should be held on the state government's energy conservation initiatives under the campaign 'Mana Desam–Mana Badhyata' (Our Nation–Our Responsibility),' he suggested.
Exposing 'Goddali Party' Atrocities
The Politburo stressed the need to expose the 'atrocities and conspiracies' of the 'Goddali Party' in the state and create greater public awareness on the issue. As part of the event, presentations will be made on the history of the Telugu Desam Party and the principles of party founder N T Rama Rao, so that the younger generation can better understand the party's legacy and ideology.
Hybrid Format and Festival Spirit
Though Mahanadu is being conducted in a hybrid format this year, Naidu said the spirit of the annual conclave should remain intact. He called upon party leaders and cadres to celebrate the program like a festival and asked supporters to hoist TDP flags atop their houses two days ahead of the event. He further directed the party leadership to ensure participation of everyone, from senior leaders to grassroots workers, in Mahanadu celebrations. The Politburo also decided to install statues of N T Rama Rao in all clusters before the commencement of the conclave.
