Thane Police Arrest Four More in Ulhasnagar Double Murder

Ulhasnagar: On May 26, Thane police arrested four more accused in connection with last week’s double murder in Ulhasnagar’s Camp No. 5 area, bringing the total number of arrests to eight, officials said. The four individuals—Badruddin Khan, Aman Manohar Chauhan, Kalpesh Sunil Mhatre, and Pranay Sachin Nikam—were produced before a local court, which remanded them to police custody.

The incident took place at Kailash Colony Chowk, where unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire following an old dispute, resulting in the deaths of two brothers, Anil Harkesh Chauhan and Aman Harkesh Chauhan. Another relative, Arjun Surajbali Chauhan, sustained serious injuries in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment.

The broad daylight killings created panic in the area and triggered tension among residents. Initially, police arrested three accused—Shekhar Birajdar, Aziz Sheikh, and Ajay Rao—in connection with the case. Later, based on allegations made by family members of the deceased, police also arrested Sagar Patil for his alleged involvement. Police said they are probing whether any other accused are involved in the killing.
