The victims have been identified as:
- Sangminthang, aged 3, son of Thanggoulien
- Lunminlal, aged 5, son of Thanggoulien
- Kapminlen, aged 3, son of Paulalmuon
Sangminthang and Lunminlal were siblings, with the older child attending preparatory class and the younger in nursery. Kapminlen, their neighbor's child, had not yet begun formal schooling. The families were notified of the tragedy at approximately 2:30 pm, the same time the incident is believed to have occurred.

After being discovered and pulled from the water, the children were urgently transported to the district hospital in a desperate bid to save their lives.
