Ghaziabad: Three vehicles were destroyed in a fire that erupted at a car workshop near gate number 2 of the RRTS station on Meerut Road early Wednesday morning. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Fire Breaks Out at Auto Workshop
According to the fire department, the blaze was reported around 5 am at New Auto Life Motors workshop, located near Hindon Dharma Kanta. Two fire tenders and a water bowser were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal stated that six vehicles were parked inside the workshop when the fire broke out. “Firefighters deployed two hose pipes and brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes. Three vehicles were damaged, while three others were safely removed from the workshop,” he said.
Suspected Cause and Response
Officials suspect a short circuit may have caused the fire, though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed. Workshop owner Mohammad Arif, also known as Kallu Mistry, recounted the incident: “We woke up after noticing heavy smoke and flames around the workshop. We immediately dialed 112, following which the police and fire teams arrived.”
Second Fire Incident in Ghaziabad
In a separate incident on Wednesday evening, a fire broke out at Omega Print Pack in the Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area under Kotwali police station limits. Information about the blaze was received around 4 pm, prompting five fire tenders from Kotwali fire station to be dispatched. Additional tenders from Hapur, Noida, and other parts of Ghaziabad were later called in.
Officials said the fire was brought under control within about an hour. The factory manufactures printing ink, and chemicals stored there led to dense smoke and fire spreading across the area for some time. “No casualty was reported in the incident. Prima facie, the fire appears to have been caused by a short circuit, but the exact cause is being examined,” Pal added.
Fire Calls Surge Across District
Fire department officials reported that over 20 fire-related calls were received across the district on Wednesday, highlighting a concerning trend. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with authorities urging caution to prevent such occurrences.
