Two Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Nagpur
Nagpur witnessed two tragic road accidents on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and highlighting the ongoing menace of reckless driving. The incidents, caused by speeding vehicles, have once again raised concerns about road safety in the city.
First Accident: Cement Mixer Truck Hits Motorcycle
The first accident occurred around 7 PM in the Yashodhara Nagar police station limits. A cement mixer vehicle allegedly rammed into a motorcycle near a tea stall. The motorcycle was being ridden by Ajay Gajjam (32), with his son Manav (16) as a pillion rider. Following the collision, the motorcycle crashed into a road divider. Both were rushed to Mayo Hospital, where Ajay succumbed to his injuries. Manav is currently undergoing treatment. A case has been registered against the truck driver under Sections 281, 106(1), 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 134, 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Second Accident: Delivery Agent Killed in High-Speed Collision
The second accident took place around 9:30 PM within the Pratapnagar police station limits. Yuvraj Alone (23), a delivery agent working for an online platform, was riding his motorcycle at high speed when he hit the two-wheeler of Aditya Meshram from behind. Meshram was seriously injured, along with his pillion rider Mayur Vadhai (22). Meshram was later declared dead at Orange City Hospital. A case has been registered against Yuvraj under relevant sections of the law.
These accidents underscore the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and greater awareness about safe driving practices. Authorities urge all motorists to adhere to speed limits and exercise caution on the roads to prevent such tragedies.
