BJP leader Uma Bharti fell ill while travelling to Delhi on Wednesday and was provided medical assistance in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, officials said.
Medical Examination and Treatment
According to Muzaffarnagar Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Sushil Kumar, a medical team examined Bharti and found that her blood pressure was elevated and she had swelling in her leg. She was given immediate medical aid and advised rest.
The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister was on her way to Delhi when she felt unwell and stopped at a resting point in Muzaffarnagar, where local health officials attended to her.
Condition Stable
After receiving treatment, Bharti's condition was reported to be stable. She continued her journey to Delhi later in the day. No further details about her health were immediately available.
Bharti, a senior BJP leader, has been active in politics for decades and has held several key positions, including Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
The incident comes amid her ongoing political engagements and public appearances. Party workers and supporters have expressed concern and wished her a speedy recovery.
