UP BJP launches tree plantation drive for Modi govt's 12 years

The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday initiated a series of programs, including a tree plantation drive, as a precursor to a statewide campaign celebrating the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. The campaign, themed '12 years of trust, development, and public welfare', is set to commence on June 8. The Friday event coincided with World Environment Day and was organized across all organizational units, known as 'mandals', of the state under the initiative 'Ek ped maa ke naam'.

Key Participants and Activities

State President Pankaj Chaudhary led the program in Maharajganj, while State General Secretary (Organization) Dharampal Singh planted saplings and conveyed a message of environmental conservation in Lucknow. A large number of party office-bearers, public representatives, and workers participated in the event and pledged to protect the environment.

Chaudhary's Remarks

Chaudhary stated that the path shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which balances development with environmental conservation, serves as a model for the entire world. He noted that over the past 12 years, India has achieved unprecedented milestones in the fields of economy, social welfare, infrastructure, agriculture, women's empowerment, the welfare of the poor, and environmental conservation. He emphasized that the 'Ek ped maa ke naam' campaign is not merely a tree-planting activity but a national mass movement honoring Indian culture and 'Matrushakti' (the power of motherhood) while championing nature conservation.

Singh's Statement

Dharampal Singh said that the BJP is not just a political organization but a social entity committed to the cause of nation-building. He underscored that environmental conservation is a critical need of the hour and that every citizen has a responsibility to play an active role in protecting nature. The plantation drive is expected to gain momentum across the state in the coming weeks, aligning with the party's broader agenda of development and environmental stewardship.

The initiative also reflects the party's commitment to grassroots engagement and public participation in environmental causes. As part of the larger statewide drive, similar events are planned in all districts, aiming to involve millions of citizens in tree plantation and awareness programs. The BJP leadership expressed confidence that this campaign will not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also reinforce the party's connection with the masses.
