Kanpur: India has entered a new era of self-confidence, development, good governance, and public welfare, said Uttar Pradesh higher education minister and Kanpur in-charge Yogendra Upadhyaya on Thursday, marking the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi government.
Leadership and Security
"Prime Minister Modi set a new benchmark in public service by providing successful leadership for a prolonged period both as the Gujarat chief minister and the country's Prime Minister," said Upadhyaya. He highlighted the government's security policies, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, surgical strikes against terrorism, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor. These actions, he noted, have strengthened India's security framework and sent a strong message that the country will not compromise on its sovereignty and security.
Technological Advancements
Referring to technological progress, Upadhyaya said that through the Digital India campaign, the country has achieved remarkable success in the technology sector and emerged as a global leader in digital payments. He added that India is rapidly progressing in artificial intelligence, innovation, and semiconductor manufacturing, moving steadily toward the vision of a self-reliant India.
Social Welfare Schemes
The minister emphasized that initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Jan-Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, and Har Ghar Bijli have improved the living standards of millions across the country. "These schemes have helped integrate poor farmers, women, labourers, and marginalized sections into the mainstream of development," he added.
