In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Uttar Pradesh Police apprehended ten accused individuals across seven separate police encounters conducted throughout the Muzaffarnagar district within the last 24 hours. Several of the suspects sustained injuries during exchanges of fire with police teams and were subsequently taken into custody.
Operations by Multiple Police Stations
Police officials stated that the operations were executed by teams from the Budhana, Mansoorpur, Kotwalinagar, and Nai Mandi police stations. The targeted individuals were wanted in connection with various serious offenses, including robbery, dacoity, mobile snatching, theft, and other grave crimes.
First Encounter: Budhana Police
In the first encounter, Budhana police arrested Shahrukh Pathan, a wanted accused with a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head, linked to several robbery and dacoity cases. Pathan, a resident of Chandhedi road in Budhana, sustained bullet injuries during the operation. Police recovered an illegal pistol, a country-made firearm, live cartridges, spent cartridges, and a motorcycle without a number plate from his possession. Officials revealed that approximately a dozen criminal cases, including dacoity, attempt to murder, and charges under the Gangster Act, were registered against him.
Mansoorpur Police Operation
In another operation, the Mansoorpur police claimed to have solved an iPhone robbery case within six hours. During the encounter, the accused, identified as Shanky, a resident of Sardhana in Meerut, was injured and arrested along with his associate Manish. Police seized an illegal firearm, cartridges, a motorcycle, and Rs 2,120 in cash from them.
Kotwalinagar Police Arrest
Kotwalinagar police arrested Shivam alias Mota, a wanted dacoit carrying a reward of Rs 20,000, during another encounter. The accused, a resident of Saharanpur district, was allegedly found in possession of an illegal firearm, cartridges, 400 grams of silver ornaments linked to a dacoity case, and a motorcycle without a number plate.
Multiple Encounters by Nai Mandi Police
Nai Mandi police conducted multiple encounters during the crackdown. In one operation, Salman alias Shehzad, wanted in Punjab, was arrested in an injured condition. Police seized an illegal firearm and a scooter without a number plate from him. Officials stated that several criminal cases, including cow slaughter and theft, were registered against the accused.
In a separate encounter, Nai Mandi police arrested another wanted accused, Khushna alias Khushnaseeb, also wanted in Punjab. Police recovered a country-made firearm and cartridges from him. Officials noted that the accused was a history-sheeter with multiple cases of theft, robbery, and attempt to murder registered against him.
Police also arrested Amar and Guddu during an encounter while solving a mobile snatching and robbery case. Both accused sustained bullet injuries during the exchange of fire. Two illegal firearms, cartridges, and a motorcycle were seized from them.
In another operation, Nai Mandi police arrested two wanted accused identified as Abhishek alias Kharkhosh and Sagar during a police encounter. Two country-made firearms along with live and spent cartridges were allegedly seized from them.
Legal Proceedings and Future Actions
Police officials confirmed that all injured accused were admitted to hospitals for treatment, and further legal proceedings are underway. Authorities added that the district-wide crackdown against organized crime and wanted criminals will continue in the coming days.
