Venugopal Accuses CPM of 'Politics of Hacking', Alleges Bomb Manufacturing in Vadakara
Venugopal: CPM Continuing 'Politics of Hacking', Creating Violence in Vadakara

Congress Leader Venugopal Slams CPM for 'Politics of Hacking' and Bomb Violence in Vadakara

In a scathing critique, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary K C Venugopal has accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) of continuing what he termed a "politics of hacking" and alleged that the ruling party is attempting to transform Vadakara into a "land of bombs and violence." His remarks came during a media interaction following a Peace Walk organized by the United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kuttiyadi, Kozhikode district.

Allegations of Systematic Violence and Bomb Attacks

Venugopal asserted that the CPM is unleashing violence in the region in a concerted and organized manner, drawing a stark comparison to the party's historical impact in West Bengal. "Just as the CPM wrecked the state of West Bengal through violence, they are now replicating that model here," he stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

He specifically referenced the brutal murder of T P Chandrasekharan, a former CPM member turned Revolutionary Marxist Party leader, who was hacked 51 times in 2012 by assailants linked to the CPM. "This is the land where T P Chandrasekharan was murdered for asking questions within the party. Now, we see the strange and alarming situation where the ruling party itself is allegedly manufacturing bombs and unleashing violence," Venugopal alleged, highlighting a pattern of political brutality.

Recent Incidents and UDF's Call for Peace

Pointing to a recent attack, Venugopal detailed how the house of a UDF worker in Vadakara was bombed. This individual had previously protested against the chief minister at Kannur University, suggesting a retaliatory motive. "UDF is committed to transforming Vadakara into a peaceful region. Using bombs or hacking people to death over differences of opinion is not a political ideology; it is sheer terrorism," he declared, underscoring the UDF's stance against violence.

The Peace Walk in Kuttiyadi was organized to protest bomb attacks and violence against UDF workers, which Venugopal claims are perpetrated by CPM workers. He called for an end to such tactics, urging political discourse to return to democratic principles.

Criticism of BJP's Electoral Strategies

Expanding his critique, Venugopal also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of using religious issues like Sabarimala purely as instruments to secure votes. "For the BJP, Hindus and Christians are reduced to tools needed only during elections. They exploit these communities for political gain without genuine commitment to their welfare," he alleged, questioning the party's sincerity.

He further criticized BJP leaders for what he described as "hypocrisy," noting that "the same leaders who visit with cakes during Christmas are now introducing laws aimed at targeting minority communities at a crucial time." This comment reflects ongoing tensions over legislation perceived as discriminatory, adding a layer of national political context to the local issues in Kerala.

Venugopal's statements highlight a volatile political climate in Vadakara, with allegations of violence, bomb manufacturing, and electoral manipulation taking center stage. As the UDF mobilizes against these perceived threats, the call for peace and democratic engagement grows louder, setting the stage for intensified political confrontations in the region.
