CM Yogi Adityanath Advocates for Sanatan Unity at Mathura Religious Festival
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a powerful address on Tuesday, urging the Sanatan community to unite for the greater good of the nation. Speaking at the Shri Sitaram Nikunj Ashtayam Leela Mahotsav in Mathura, which commemorated the 452nd birth anniversary of Sant Shrimad Jagadguru Dwaracharya Shri Malookdas Ji Maharaj, the CM highlighted the transformative potential of collective action.
Prioritizing Sanatan and National Interests
Yogi Adityanath stated unequivocally, "My interest cannot be greater than Sanatan and national interest. When revered saints set aside personal, institutional, sectarian, and denominational interests and began to think about Sanatan interest, then widespread awakening, divine radiance, and miracles are witnessed." He emphasized that unity among followers is essential to safeguard India from adversaries.
Historical Achievements Through Unity
The Chief Minister pointed to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as a prime example of what can be accomplished when seers and devotees come together. "When seers came together, they managed to get Ram Temple in Ayodhya after a period of 500 years. So, if all Sanatan followers unite, no adversary or those conspiring against Hindus would be able to harm India in any way," he asserted. He recalled that chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' once invited violence before 2017, but unity has since led to significant milestones.
Call for Continuous Progress
Adityanath urged the community to persist in their efforts with the resolve of 'Charaiveti-Charaiveti', meaning to move forward without stopping, getting tired, wavering, or bending. This philosophy, he suggested, is crucial for ongoing protection and advancement of Sanatan values.
Examples of Restoration and Justice
The CM cited several instances where unity and government action have led to positive changes:
- Shri Harihar Temple in Sambhal: He claimed this temple was demolished by descendants of Babur in 1526, with 67 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells erased. Riots in 1976-78 resulted in hundreds of Hindu deaths, and cases against perpetrators were withdrawn under the Samajwadi Party government in 1995-96. Adityanath mentioned meeting a victim's family who fled to Delhi, assuring them of property restoration.
- Kashi Vishwanath Dham Redevelopment: Upon becoming CM in 2017, he noted that narrow lanes limited temple visits to fewer than 50 people at a time. Today, due to redevelopment efforts, 50,000 devotees can visit simultaneously, showcasing improved infrastructure and accessibility.
Through these examples, Yogi Adityanath reinforced his message that unity within the Sanatan community is vital for overcoming challenges and achieving lasting progress in India.
