CM Yogi Adityanath Calls for Sanatan Unity at Mathura Event, Highlights Temple Achievements
In a significant address in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday passionately appealed to the Sanatan community to unite, emphasizing that collective action has historically led to monumental achievements like the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Emphasis on Collective Interest Over Personal Gains
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated, "My interest cannot be greater than Sanatan and national interest. When revered saints set aside personal, institutional, sectarian, and denominational interests and began to think about Sanatan interest, then widespread awakening, divine radiance, and miracles are witnessed." He made these remarks while attending the Shri Sitaram Nikunj Ashtayam Leela Mahotsav, organized to mark the 452nd birth anniversary of Sant Shrimad Jagadguru Dwaracharya Shri Malookdas Ji Maharaj.
Historical Context and Achievements Cited
Reflecting on past challenges, Yogi Adityanath claimed that chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' often invited violence and repression before 2017. However, he highlighted how unity among seers ultimately resulted in the realization of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya after a prolonged wait of 500 years. "So, if all Sanatan followers unite, no adversary or those conspiring against Hindus would be able to harm India in any way," he asserted.
The Chief Minister urged the community to persist with the resolve of 'Charaiveti-Charaiveti'—meaning to keep moving forward without stopping, tiring, wavering, or bending. He expressed gratitude that the current generation has witnessed key milestones:
- The Ram Temple movement gaining momentum
- The liberation of the birthplace in Ayodhya
- The construction of the Shri Ram Temple
- The grand consecration ceremony

Yogi Adityanath provided detailed instances to underscore his message. He mentioned the Shri Harihar Temple in Sambhal, which was allegedly demolished by descendants of Babur in 1526, along with the erasure of 67 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells. He recounted riots in 1976-78 where hundreds of Hindus were killed, and noted that cases against perpetrators were withdrawn during the Samajwadi Party government in 1995-96. The CM shared that he met affected families who had fled to Delhi, assuring them of property restoration.
Another highlighted achievement was the redevelopment of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. He pointed out that before 2017, narrow lanes limited temple visits to fewer than 50 people at a time, whereas now, the site can accommodate up to 50,000 devotees simultaneously. "This journey reflects the speed of development. When this speed moves in the direction of progress, it leads to upliftment," he explained.

Speaking about Jagadguru Malookdas Ji Maharaj, Yogi Adityanath praised his life's mission focused on helping humanity, protecting cows, and feeding the hungry. "He taught that a person who feels the pain of others as his own is truly noble. Compassion for all beings is the essence of the saintly tradition," the CM said. He added that the saint's divine energy is still felt at his samadhi, with his birth and samadhi dates coinciding on Vaishakh Krishna Panchami.
