CM Yogi Adityanath Engages with Defence Delegation on UP's Progress
In Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened with a high-level delegation of senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces, international military representatives, and civil services personnel on Monday. The officers are currently participating in the 'National Security and Strategic Study' program, which is organized by the National Defence College under the Ministry of Defence.
Delegation's Visit and Key Discussions
The delegation, which was present in Lucknow for the day, also held a meeting with Chief Secretary SP Goyal. During the interaction, CM Adityanath emphasized the significant transformations that Uttar Pradesh has undergone over the past nine years. He identified Trust and Technology as the two fundamental pillars driving the state's remarkable progress.
"In the last nine years, the state's economy has expanded threefold, and today UP boasts the largest highway and expressway network in the entire country. Approximately 55% of India's expressways are situated within our state," the Chief Minister stated. He further highlighted that prior to 2017, security concerns posed a major challenge, but the government has successfully established the rule of law. This improvement in law and order has, in turn, provided new momentum for investment and overall development across Uttar Pradesh.
Infrastructure and Defence Initiatives
CM Adityanath elaborated on several key infrastructure projects and initiatives. He discussed the upcoming Defence Industrial Corridor, noting that a BrahMos missile manufacturing unit has already been established in Lucknow as part of this corridor. "This unit will serve as an anchor, creating numerous opportunities for small and medium enterprises in the region," he explained, extending an invitation to the officers to visit the Defence Corridor.
Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted other major infrastructural developments, including the Noida International Airport and the Ganga Expressway. He also detailed advancements in cybersecurity measures, such as the establishment of cyber forensic labs in every division, forensic mobile vans in every district, and 75 dedicated cyber police stations aimed at combating crime effectively.
Welfare Schemes and Policy Implementation
The Chief Minister also mentioned the various welfare schemes that have been rolled out in Uttar Pradesh, contributing to the state's socio-economic upliftment. During the interactive session, officers raised a pertinent question regarding policy implementation in India. They asked CM Adityanath to comment on the observation that many well-formulated policies in the country often face challenges in effective execution.
This meeting underscores the state's commitment to fostering strategic partnerships and showcasing its developmental achievements on a national and international platform.
