Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the swearing-in ceremony of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Tuesday. Yogi extended his best wishes to the newly appointed Chief Minister and his council of ministers for a successful tenure.

Upon his arrival at the airport, Yogi was accorded a traditional welcome by local artists through musical performances and dance, while women dressed in traditional attire greeted him warmly. Yogi expressed his gratitude to everyone for the warm reception.

The oath-taking programme marked the formation of the third successive National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Assam, reflecting the continued political stability and support for the coalition in the state.

Yogi's presence at the ceremony underscores the strong ties between Uttar Pradesh and Assam, as well as the unity within the NDA alliance. The event was attended by several other dignitaries and political leaders from across the country.

In his brief remarks, Yogi praised the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma and expressed confidence that the new government would continue to work for the development and prosperity of Assam. He also highlighted the importance of cooperative federalism in addressing the challenges faced by the region.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati, a venue known for hosting significant cultural and political events. The event was marked by traditional Assamese music and dance performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state.

Yogi's visit to Guwahati also included meetings with other NDA leaders and discussions on various developmental initiatives. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is expected to return to Lucknow later in the day.
