In a significant development for Uttar Pradesh's infrastructure, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday conducted a comprehensive review of preparations for the inauguration of the Noida International Airport. The Chief Minister held an extensive meeting with public representatives and senior officials to ensure all arrangements are meticulously planned for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled inauguration on March 28.

Comprehensive Directive for Essential Services and Infrastructure

Chief Minister Adityanath issued specific directives to ensure all essential arrangements are completed well in advance with regular monitoring. Key areas of focus include:

  • Smooth connectivity to the venue with proper traffic management
  • Uninterrupted power supply throughout the event
  • Adequate drinking water and sanitation facilities
  • Comprehensive security arrangements with a four-tier security system
  • Efficient transportation and parking management
  • Fire safety measures and medical services
  • Clear signage and directional assistance

Special instructions were given to ensure adequate facilities at parking areas for visitors arriving from various districts, including mobile toilets, help desks, drinking water provisions, and medical services. The CM directed adequate deployment of administrative and police personnel, along with volunteers, across all blocks at the venue to assist attendees effectively.

High-Level Participation and Airport Development Details

The meeting saw participation from key officials including Minister-in-Charge Brijesh Singh, Noida MP Mahesh Sharma, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, Yamuna Authority CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, District Magistrate Medha Roopam, Special Secretary Ishan Pratap Singh, and NIAL Nodal Officer Shailendra Bhatia.

The Noida International Airport is being developed in four phases with a dedicated cargo terminal. The first phase will feature one runway and one terminal capable of handling up to 12 million passengers annually. Upon full completion, the airport's capacity is expected to reach 70 million passengers per year, positioning it as a key aviation hub for the region.

Originally envisioned as a logistics gateway for north India and a multimodal transport hub, the airport's foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Modi in November 2021. Three major airlines—IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express—have confirmed plans to operate from the airport, with initial routes expected to connect Noida to major metropolitan centers including Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Ticket bookings are anticipated to open approximately one month before operations commence.

This inauguration marks a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh's infrastructure development, promising enhanced connectivity and economic growth for the National Capital Region and beyond.
