In the wake of rising fuel prices across the country, Uchana Kalan MLA Devender Chatarbhuj Atri set an example by traveling from Jind to Uchana in a public bus after purchasing a ticket worth Rs 35. He urged the general public to use public transport as much as possible. The BJP MLA later traveled in an auto-rickshaw to the PWD Rest House, where he held a Janata Darbar.
Inspired by PM Modi's Appeal
Speaking to the media, MLA Atri said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to save fuel inspired him to use public transport. He stated that it is the responsibility of every citizen to contribute towards national interest and support initiatives aimed at reducing fuel consumption.
"Under the leadership of PM Modi, we successfully overcame the Covid-19 pandemic. Similarly, citizens would support this campaign as well. People should use buses, trains and electric vehicles instead of private cars," he added.
Kaithal Police Launches Bicycle Initiative
In support of the fuel conservation campaign, the Kaithal Police has launched a unique initiative encouraging the use of bicycles among police personnel. Under the campaign, SP, DSPs and all police employees will now commute to duty on bicycles every Thursday and Friday. To spread awareness about fuel conservation and environmental protection, the police department also organized a bicycle rally across the city.
