Kodagu Police Launch Locked House Beat System to Prevent Theft
Kodagu Police Launch Locked House Beat System

The police department in Kodagu district has rolled out a novel initiative aimed at curbing theft in residential properties. Dubbed the 'Locked House Beat System', this program enlists police personnel to provide security to homes when occupants are away.

Rising Theft Incidents in Kodagu

Kodagu's hilly terrain has seen a surge in standalone houses, which has led to an increase in burglaries where criminals break in and steal cash and gold when no one is home. Urban areas have also reported a rise in such thefts.

Police Response and Community Cooperation

The Kodagu police department has been taking effective measures to curb drug trafficking and other crimes. Superintendent of Police Bindu Mani stated, 'The Locked House Beat System has been introduced to control house thefts. We are hopeful that with the cooperation of locals, robbery incidents can be reduced.'
