Kochi: The state information commission resolved all 28 complaints reviewed during a hearing held at the collectorate conference hall. The session, led by state information commissioner Sonichen P Joseph, addressed complaints from Palakkad, Thrissur, and Ernakulam after hearing both parties in person.
Key Interventions by the Commission
The commission made significant interventions in three cases related to the Kerala University of Health Sciences. It was noted that two appellate authorities are functioning within the university. The commission stated that it would examine the legal validity of this arrangement under the Right to Information Act and take appropriate action.
Police Department Complaints
Regarding complaints related to the police department, many applicants had requested CCTV footage spanning several days. The commission explained the practical difficulties in providing such lengthy footage. It mentioned that the police would be instructed to provide footage for shorter, specific time frames and dates if requested.
Both parties involved and the officials representing them attended the hearing in person. The commission's proactive approach ensured that all grievances were addressed effectively, with clear directives for future compliance.
