Three members of a family were killed in a tragic road accident in Karnataka's Raibag taluk on Monday evening. The incident occurred when a goods autorickshaw collided with a motorcycle near the village of Yadgatti.
Details of the Accident
The victims were identified as 45-year-old Shankarappa, his wife Renuka (40), and their daughter Kavya (18). The family was returning home after attending a function when the accident took place. The collision was so severe that all three died on the spot.
Cause and Investigation
Preliminary investigations suggest that the autorickshaw driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the head-on collision with the bike. The autorickshaw was carrying goods and was reportedly speeding. The driver of the autorickshaw has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
Local residents rushed to the spot and informed the police. The bodies have been sent to the government hospital for post-mortem. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
This accident has once again highlighted the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and safety measures on rural roads. The deceased family leaves behind a son, who was not accompanying them at the time of the accident.
