A 30-year-old woman from Bengaluru died of suspected suffocation in a homestay bathroom in Kodagu district, Karnataka, on Sunday. The incident occurred at a private homestay in the Madikeri area, where the woman was staying with her family.
Incident Details
The victim, identified as Priya R., a software professional from Bengaluru, had checked into the homestay with her husband and two children on Saturday. Around 8:30 AM on Sunday, she entered the bathroom and did not come out for a long time. When her husband knocked and received no response, he broke open the door and found her unconscious on the floor. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Cause of Death
Police suspect that the woman died due to suffocation caused by inhaling toxic fumes or lack of oxygen in the small, poorly ventilated bathroom. The bathroom reportedly had only a small window and no exhaust fan. Forensic experts are conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
