A tragic incident in Shivpuri district's Gudar village on Wednesday morning claimed the life of a four-year-old girl and left four members of her family with severe burn injuries. The explosion occurred around 8:30 am while the girl's mother was preparing breakfast on an LPG stove and getting her daughter ready for school, according to police.
The victim, identified as Jahnavi Prajapati, was trapped under debris after the roof and walls of the house collapsed following the blast. Her body was recovered during a rescue operation.
Four injured persons were admitted to Shivpuri Medical College and later referred to Gwalior for advanced treatment. Hospital authorities reported that Roshni, the girl's mother, suffered 50% burns; her son Shiva sustained around 60% burns; Pran Singh Prajapati had approximately 70% burns; and Ankesh, aged 10, suffered 85% burns.
Officials are investigating the cause of the explosion. Preliminary findings suggest that diesel and petrol stored in the house may have caught fire. However, villagers claimed that an LPG cylinder exploded.
