The revenue and land reforms department of Bihar on Tuesday initiated action against eight circle officers (COs) and revenue officers (ROs) over alleged corruption and administrative irregularities. The measures include departmental proceedings, charge sheets, increment freezes and special investigations.
Details of Actions Taken
Among those facing action is former Dehri CO Seema Rani, now retired, who has been accused of ignoring forgery in government land records, failing to comply with mutation appeal orders and extending undue benefits to staff.
Santosh Kumar Pritam, currently CO of Itarhi in Buxar, allegedly recommended the mutation of government land as private property. His increment may be withheld if the charges are established.
Former Barauli RO Vijay Kumar Singh was allegedly caught accepting a bribe in January 2026, while former Motipur CO Ruchi Kumari is accused of mutating BIADA land in favour of a private individual.
Chandan Kumar, now additional district land acquisition officer of Supaul, faces a charge sheet over alleged irregularities involving Rs 11 lakh in flood relief funds.
Charge sheets have also been issued against Bagaha-1 CO Uday Shankar Mishra, Ramgarhwa CO Raja Kumar and Vinod Kumar Mishra of West Champaran.
