Bovine Bones Seized in Ranchi, One Arrested

Ranchi: A pick-up van loaded with bones of bovine animals was intercepted by police in the Pithoria police station area, officials confirmed on Tuesday. Deputy Superintendent of Police (headquarters) Amar Pandey stated that the vehicle's owner, Arif Ansari, has been taken into custody, while efforts are underway to locate other members of the syndicate, including the intended recipient of the consignment.

Details of the Seizure

The incident occurred late Monday night when a patrol team stopped the suspicious vehicle during a routine check. Upon inspection, officers discovered a large quantity of bovine bones stacked inside the van. Preliminary investigations suggest that the bones were being transported to a factory where they would be crushed and processed for further commercial use.

Arrest and Investigation

Police have registered a case against Arif Ansari under relevant sections of the law. Authorities are now interrogating the accused to uncover the broader network involved in the illegal trade of animal remains. The receiver of the bones, who remains at large, is believed to be a key figure in this operation.
