Chennai: In a major administrative reshuffle, former commissioner of police and additional director-general of police A Arun has been appointed as the director of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC). According to sources, Arun has been given a clear mandate to achieve zero-corruption in key government departments and service delivery points across the state within a span of six months. The posting is seen as a strong signal from the state government to crack down on corrupt practices in public offices.
New Appointments in Key Posts
In another significant move, T S Anbu, an additional director-general of police rank officer, has been posted as ADGP (law and order), replacing Maheshwar Dayal. Dayal has been transferred and will now serve as ADGP (administration) in Chennai. The reshuffle aims to strengthen the law and order machinery in the state capital and ensure efficient administration.
Immediate Charge Assumed
The official notification issued on Monday stated that the officers have been instructed to assume charge of their new postings with immediate effect. Sources indicate that the changes are part of a broader strategy to enhance transparency and accountability in the state's policing and anti-corruption framework.
The appointments come at a time when the state is focusing on improving governance and public service delivery. With A Arun at the helm of DVAC, expectations are high for a crackdown on corruption at all levels.
