The minimum temperature saw a sharp rise to 30 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, against 22.9 on Wednesday. This was largely due to overnight clouding that trapped heat radiating from the earth. Humidity levels oscillated between 59% and 41%.

IMD Alerts and Forecast

The India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert, expecting rain and thunderstorm. However, no major activity was observed until 7pm. According to IMD, the region will experience rain and thunderstorm over the next few days, with a yellow alert issued for Friday.

Friday’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius, which will rise to 38-41 degrees by June 17.

The air quality remained moderate, with an AQI of 167 on Thursday, slightly down from 169 a day earlier, on a scale of 0 to 500.
