An intensive vehicle-checking drive was launched in the area based on a tip-off. During the operation, police signalled the car to stop, but the driver allegedly attempted to flee. The police chased it and intercepted near the Narkara culvert after setting up a blockade.

DSP said, “After searching the vehicle, around 70 kg of cut aluminium wires packed in green plastic sacks were recovered. The occupants could not produce valid documents related to the consignment. During questioning, the accused admitted that they used to steal aluminium wires from the BSL area and sold them later in Ramgarh.”

The police have registered a case and further investigation is underway to trace any other individuals involved in the theft. The stolen cables were intended for illegal sale, and the authorities are working to prevent such incidents in the future.
