CM Sawant Promotes Mhajhe Ghar Scheme in Velguem
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday urged residents of Velguem to apply for the state government's 'Mhajhe Ghar' scheme, describing it as a significant initiative that enables families to secure legal ownership of their homes. Speaking at a village gathering, Sawant encouraged potential beneficiaries to thoroughly understand the scheme's provisions, verify necessary documents, and submit applications promptly. He noted that the application deadline has been extended by one year, providing more time for eligible families to benefit.
Sawant directed government officials to offer clear guidance, particularly in rural areas, to prevent the spread of misinformation. He emphasized that the scheme would end uncertainty over property rights, provide legal security, and help reduce family disputes, sibling disagreements, and domestic conflicts. The Chief Minister highlighted that the initiative aims to bring stability and peace to households.
To facilitate the application process, government and panchayat staff will be available at the Velguem panchayat office from Monday to Wednesday for document verification and processing. Deputy Collector Shubham Naik briefed citizens on the scheme's rules and procedures. The awareness drive also included Sarpanch Yogita Haldankar, ZP member Gopal Surlikar, and attorney Avdhut Dhond.
