Handicapped Man Dies in Paharganj House Fire

A tragic incident occurred in central Delhi's Paharganj area on Monday afternoon when a 60-year-old handicapped man lost his life in a house fire. The fire broke out at a residence in Chuna Mandi, Paharganj, and was reported to the Delhi Fire Services at approximately 2:40 PM.

Firefighting Efforts

Two fire tenders were promptly dispatched to the scene, and the blaze was brought under control by 3:10 PM. Officials stated that the fire originated from domestic articles on the third floor of the building.

Casualties and Injuries

The victim, identified as Ramesh (60), who was handicapped, sustained severe burn injuries. He was rescued from the site and immediately taken to RML Hospital by PCR. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. His brother, Naresh (58), also suffered minor burn injuries to his hand.

Police personnel, including the local Station House Officer (SHO), reached the location shortly after the incident. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
