Haryana Agri Marketing Board brings 10 services under Right to Service Act

The Haryana Government has officially brought 10 services of the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) under the purview of the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014. The notification was issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, marking a significant step toward ensuring time-bound service delivery for farmers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

Services Covered and Timelines

Under the new framework, several important services will now have mandated delivery timelines. Services such as issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs), duplicate allotment and re-allotment, conveyance deeds, re-transfer of property after sale, and ex gratia assistance in cases of injury or death during agricultural operations must be provided within 30 days. Additionally, services like issuance of no dues certificates and mortgage-related NOCs will be delivered within 15 days.

Impact on Farmers and Stakeholders

This move is expected to significantly reduce delays and improve transparency in the functioning of HSAMB. Farmers and other beneficiaries will now have a legal right to these services within stipulated timeframes, with provisions for penalties in case of non-compliance. The Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014, empowers citizens to demand timely delivery of notified services and provides a mechanism for appeal and compensation.
