Shimla: The first phase of the Census-2027 – the House Listing and Housing Census – will be conducted across Himachal Pradesh from June 16 to July 15. A spokesperson for the Directorate of Census Operations confirmed that training for enumerators and supervisors has been completed in all districts.
Digital Census Process
The entire census will be carried out digitally using the HLO Mobile App. Residents who do not complete self-enumeration online will be covered through door-to-door visits by enumerators.
Information Collected
Enumerators will gather data on housing conditions, household composition, basic amenities, access to food grains, and household assets through 33 prescribed questions.
Security Measures
For security purposes, citizens can verify enumerators by scanning the QR code on their identity cards. Officials clarified that the exercise will not ask for any bank details, OTPs, or financial information and urged residents to cooperate fully.
